This dataset contains raw Illumina MiSeq sequencing data (FASTQ files) generated from paired facial skin swab and stool samples collected from patients with moderate-to-severe acne vulgaris and healthy controls. The dataset was produced as part of a pilot study investigating the composition of the skin and gut microbiota and their potential involvement in the gut–skin axis associated with acne vulgaris. Bacterial DNA was extracted from all samples, and the V3–V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene was sequenced using the Illumina MiSeq platform. The deposited files represent unprocessed sequencing reads intended for microbiome profiling, taxonomic classification, and diversity analyses of skin and gut microbial communities.
